This is Joseph Kennedy, one of the wealthiest criminals of all time. He was the harmless-looking patriarch of one of the most powerful families in America, a corporate big shot… and strongly connected to the bootleggers who made millions selling alcohol during the Prohibition Era — if not a bootlegger himself. Many historians believe he had dealings with Frank Costello, the head of the Luciano crime family (read: mafia) to allow easy distribution of booze after World War II. He was also accused of framing his rival of rape in order to get his business. All this is outside the fact that he was a major anti-Semite and a huge supporter of Hitler’s, which is not technically illegal, but definitely unsavory.
